Experiencing the BuchenHaus

The WildnisSchule  and the exhibition are accommodated under the roof of the BuchenHaus. An information desk and a shop as well as the ticket-office for the Edersee WildtierPark are located in the foyer.

Visiting the exhibition, including BoggelReich, SchattenWald, WaldBühne, NetzWerk and BodenSchau is free of charge.

The haze door leads into the mysterious kingdom of the Boggel. Here, you can take a look at the beech forest from their perspective, discover the hidden. The Boggel movie is shown in the Boggle cave.

A walk-in silhouette which reflects the beauty and the structural diversity of a beech forest forms the setting. Statements on the beech tree and its forest are presented at ten stations.

Movies about the national park, the beech forest and the Boggel are shown in regular intervals.

The NABU (Hessian Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union) exhibition explains the ecological importance of the national park for the region and Hesse. Lynx, red deer, Red Kite, Black Woodpecker, Eagle Owl and forest bats have proved this conclusively.

The SDW (Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald / German forestry protection organisation) presents a walk-in soil segment, including hugely magnified creatures of the underworld.

The wilderness of the beech forest as a place of personal freedom and biological diversity is at the centre of nature education. Groups may perform handicraft work, experiments or do research in the WerkRaum of the WildnisSchule. Lectures, discussions and plays take place in the KlassenRaum. The WildnisRaum invites you to contemplate and meditate.

Special modules are offered for school parties.
